About Us

Emma, David, and Tara are based around the country, offering remote support to clients across the country, with a central office in Hampshire. As a close-knit team, we focus on understanding our clients’ businesses and aim to provide accurate management information to help them run and grow their businesses.

Emma qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the Public Sector in 2016 whilst working for various Government Departments. She has held various senior roles in her career to date, and has since also qualified as a CIMA Accountant and holds CIMA Member in Practice. Her desire to help people has led her career focus from government to not-for-profit and now to support small and medium businesses with financial processes, accounting and strategic financial plans for business growth.

David qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1997 whilst working in the healthcare sector. He started working in the IT sector shortly afterwards in various roles, including Finance Director of a business with a turnover of £50m. He moved to working with small and medium businesses in 2014 and became a CIMA Member in Practice in 2020 with the launch of Balanced Business Advice.

Tara is AAT qualified and has been working as a bookkeeper for 20 years, including much time in the construction industry. She joined Balanced Business Advice in 2023 and now works with a variety of clients, supporting bookkeeping and payrolls.
