About Us

Emma qualified as Chartered Accountant in the Public Sector in 2016 whilst working for various Government Departments. She has held various senior roles in her career to date, both prior to and since qualification. Her desire to help people has lead her career focus from government to not for profit and now to support small and medium businesses with financial processes, accounting and strategic financial plans for business growth.

David qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1997 whilst working in the healthcare sector. He started working in the IT sector shortly afterwards in various roles, including Finance Director of a business with a turnover of £50m. He started working with Tony in 2014 with a desire to work more closely with smaller, growing businesses and became a CIMA Member in Practice in 2020 with the launch of Balanced Business Advice.

Tony qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1979 and worked both as an accountant and in management in various industries since qualification. In 1999, he formed Abacus Business Solutions with the intention to support smaller businesses and provide them the financial support that they require. Abacus transitioned to Balanced Business Advice in 2020.
